Besides the fact that I love everything the company stands for, I cannot get over how comfortable Sarah Flint shoes are! Each shoe goes through several rounds of prototyping and fit-testing before landing in customer’s hands (or, rather, on their feet!). Below are just some of the materials and features of Sarah Flint shoes that set them apart from other designer shoes on the market.
Materials
Sarah Flint sources their shoes from the highest quality materials around the world. This includes materials like Italian suedes and jacquards woven in British mills. All shoes are 100% certified made in Italy. They are even made in the same factories as some of the biggest luxury names in the world (think Louboutin and Hermès!).
Extra Padding + Anatomical Arch Support
I’ve learned over the years that my feet need significant padding under the arch of the foot in order to feel comfortable. After wearing Sarah Flint shoes, I can now instantly tell if a shoe has enough support.
Sarah Flint shoes include a shaped insole that supports the natural arch of the foot. The insole is the area of a shoe sole between the ball and the heel. (You can see this shaped insole in the photo above.) Sarah Flint’s insoles feature high-quality leather, which supports even weight distribution throughout the shoe. My feet feel secure and fully supported in my Sarah Flint Perfect Pumps.
In addition to the anatomical arch support, each Sarah Flint shoe includes extra padding in the footbed. The footbed is the inner part of the shoe that contacts the bottom of the foot. If you plan on walking a lot in your shoes, you need padding in this area of the shoe. The Perfect Pump has a glorious 6mm of extra padding here!
Steel Rod Stiletto
A steel rod stiletto? It’s my favorite part of Sarah Flint’s heeled shoes! But let’s back up a minute… have you ever felt unsteady in a pair of stiletto heels, or, even worse, tripped and fallen because of that thin heel? Or, do you just generally feel ungraceful when you try to walk in stilettos? I promise, you will feel like a million bucks in these shoes, and you will feel completely steady. It’s because of the reinforced steel rod in this stiletto heel. The steel means that the heel will never buckle or crack.
Just for fun, I tried on a pair of mid-tier stiletto heels in store the other day, and I could immediately feel the difference. After just a couple steps, I felt like I was going to fall over because the stiletto heel was flimsy and weak. (And I consider myself a heel aficionado!) In contrast, the craftsmanship of Sarah Flint heels keeps me feeling grounded and graceful—two things I always want!
Expanded Toe Box
All Sarah Flint designer heels feature an expanded toe box. This is the area that covers and protects the toes, and if it is too small, it crowds the toes and can sometimes lead to bunions (though, bunions are also genetic). I greatly appreciate the larger toe box in the Perfect Pump, especially since it is a pointed heel.
Sarah Flint Designer Heel Sizing
The Sarah Flint website lists recommended sizing for every shoe. This way, your feet feel amazing from the first moment you try them on! Sarah Flint recommends sizing up a half size in the Perfect Pump. The stilettos should feel comfortably snug when you first get them, and they will mold to your feet with wear. I’ve owned my Perfect Pumps for about six months, and they’re even more comfortable as they’ve shaped to my feet.
Depending on the brand, I am between a size 7 and 8. I own shoes in sizes 7, 7.5, and 8 that all fit me. I purchased a 7.5 in the Perfect Pump. However, my feet are two different sizes and are on the wider side. So, I think my larger foot may have been even more comfortable in an 8. The Perfect Pump doesn’t come in wide widths, so if you have wide feet, I would suggest sizing up a full size in these heels.
Tips for Keeping Your Sarah Flint Shoes in Excellent Condition
Here are a couple tips for keeping your Sarah Flint shoes in great shape!
- If your leather gets wet, avoid putting the shoe by a heat source, because it will deform the shoe. Instead, allow it to dry in a cool place.
- The more your feet sweat, the quicker the leather will wear down. I like using foot antiperspirant to control any sweating, since my feet do sweat a lot.
