Revlon Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick Swatches + Review

If you’re looking for a long-wear liquid lipstick that is comfortable, vibrant, and doesn’t dry your lips out, you have to try the Revlon Satin Ink liquid lipsticks! These beauties are part of Revlon’s ColorStay line. With 21 shades to choose from, there is a shade for everyone. Also, these are $10.99 at Ulta and—even cheaper—$7.49 on Amazon, making them very affordable. Read on for swatches and my thoughts on application and wear time.

Revlon Satin Ink Packaging

These liquid lipsticks come in a sleek rectangular package. These stand up on their own, making them very easy to store. The bottom of each package includes the name and number of the color. Additionally, a window on the front shows the color of each of the lipsticks. I’ve found that the color shown is true to the color of the actual product. Each lipstick contains 0.17oz/5.0ml of product. They are also easy to travel with, though I’d suggest closing them tightly to make sure there’s no chance of leaking.

Shade Range

There are 21 shades in the Revlon Satin Ink line. The colors range from nudes to deep purples and reds, and they are all flattering and brilliant.

Interestingly, some numbers are skipped in the sequence above. I hope this means they’ll be adding more shades to the line in the future!

Application, Texture, and Wear Time

One of my favorite parts of these liquid lipsticks is how easy they are to apply. I normally have to wear lip liner to even out my lips and help my lipsticks last longer. Not with these! The doe-foot applicator is slightly curved and therefore hugs the lip line. You can create an incredibly crisp line with just the applicator, and there is no need for lip liner. Additionally, the Revlon Satin Ink lipsticks are opaque. I only need to dip into the lipstick once, and the product covers my entire lip. Check out my video below to see how quickly and evenly these apply.

Is Revlon Satin Ink Matte?

No, the Revlon Satin Ink lipsticks are not matte. When first applied, they are quite glossy and wet. It does take several minutes for the lipstick to dry down. However, once they’ve dried, you are left with a satin finish on the lips. As a plus, the colors do not change when they dry down.

The lipsticks feel very comfortable, as well. Once I’ve applied and the product has dried, it feels like there is nothing on my lips. They just feel hydrated, as if I’m wearing a balm. And that makes sense, since the product contains black currant seed oil and Vitamin E that hydrate and smooth.

Finally, the Satin Ink lipsticks do not make my lips crack, nor do they exaggerate my lip lines. Rather, they make my lips look plump and youthful! That’s a total win in my book.

How long does Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Last?

These liquid lipsticks are meant to last for 16 hours. I’ve found that they last beautifully between meals, but if I eat something greasy or messy, it will fade. On the plus side, the lip color does fade evenly, and they leave behind a gorgeous stain. So, while these are called liquid lipsticks, I’d actually call them a cross between a liquid lipstick and a stain. The stain certainly lasts for 16 hours, even if the first lay down of color does not last that long.

These are also very easy to reapply. Just add another swipe over the lips. The color regains its vibrancy, and the product does not clump or bunch up on the lips with additional layering.

Are the Revlon Satin Ink Lipsticks Transfer-Proof?

While not transfer-proof, these are transfer-resistant. Once they dry, if I touch my fingers to my lips, I get a tiny bit of transfer. But, it is much less transfer than I’d get with a regular lipstick. I also love that the Revlon Satin Ink colors do not bleed at all. Even though many of the colors are vibrant, they do not transfer to my teeth, and they remain vibrant throughout the day (unless I’ve eaten, as mentioned above).

How To Remove Long-Wear Lipsticks?

Because these are long-wearing and leave a stain on the lips, I’ve found that an oil-based cleanser is the best to fully remove the lipstick. My favorite is DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil. I use this as my first step, and then do a second cleanse with the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser. With this double-cleansing method, everything comes off beautifully.

I purchased four of the Revlon Satin Ink liquid lipsticks. All four are very flattering on my fair olive undertone. Check out the swatches below to see how they look side by side. I used these pretty swatch stencils for the arm swatches.

Are the Revlon Satin Ink Lipsticks Worth the Money?

I say absolutely!! These liquid lipsticks are opaque, comfortable, easy to apply, and affordable. The shade range is beautiful, and I feel so confident when I’m wearing these. The red shade, My Own Boss, is currently my favorite red in my entire lipstick collection. If you buy even one color, I would highly suggest that one!

What do you think? Will you be buying any shades from this line?
